Ew,I can taste that horrible chalkiness...I get the feeling the reason people would hunt these is because they get high on the mushrooms,or I guess these would be toadstools. Or they use them for ingredients in potions or something,otherwise I'd avoid them and go for the porcus instead.

yeah, I'd say these are less preferred, and like you said, probably used for non-cooking purposes.
